It’s foliage season in Virginia. The show is in the dancing twirling of color across the Blue Ridge Mountains. As the trees are shedding their leaves they are throwing off color; wild reds, soft yellows, pinks made for a princess and fiery oranges.
As I look at bare trees that shed their foliage first, I am in love with the mystical nature of the branches and all the shapes I find. Life is always changing in such amazing ways. Each season has a purpose and symbolic in nature. Our very being is no different.
This past Sunday was the time to set our clocks back. It always takes me a few weeks to adjust to the time change. I welcome the longer nights especially as we get deeper into the winter months.
Symbolically I am starting to shed in my own way. This week I have been reflecting back on this past year, I realized how much change has entered into my life. My thoughts drifted over and over and I kept coming back to this one question; “what I needed to change going forward.”
When I change the time on my clocks on Sunday, I also make this into a magical time to go Inward and start dreaming about what I want going forward to make a change in my own life. It is time I move on and leave so many worries behind me.
It has been a year of learning, paying more attention to what my body needs to heal and how can I bring more love and bliss into my life. One huge change is that I became A grandmother again. I also have been able to go deeper into my relationships with my family, professionally, and all that breathes life.
I am certainly not saying that I haven’t had some low times and some struggles, but I can say with each one I have learned valuable lessons and messages that helped guide my path this year.
Life has met me exactly where I am right now in this present moment.
As we are going into mid November, the time has flown by so fast we’re almost in December. I know that during this time we can get into worry mode and start thinking about all the things that we have not accomplished, depression also comes and we can feel like we have unfinished business. I know you know exactly what I’m talking about.
I would like to invite you to do something different for the rest of November and into December. I want you to end the year feeling really good and enjoying the rest of the year. Here’s how to do just that!
1. Take moments out to reflect and let go of all the things that you thought you were supposed to do and only focus on what is going to bring you the most ease and peace. Yes, it’s that simple.
2. Make time to dream. So often we think of spring as the time that we plant and it truly is. But we have to dream first in order to internally sow those seeds. I usually get a journal and my pen, light a candle and snuggle up warm. I will start making a wish list or a dream list for myself. If we can dream it we can create it!
3. More than ever the world needs us to show up. I am cultivating self compassion for myself and also how can I create unconditional love for everyone around me. Since I’ve started making this a practice I’ve noticed in my life that I feel more grounded and more in touch with my truest essence.

I want to embrace as much princess pink that I possibly can. Pink is the color for love and for self-care. I hope this serves you and brings more love and joy to your life as we finish out the year.
